Poem:Dizzy Dreamer
Star Light; star bright wishing upon a wish tonight. Wishing for a kiss from immortal life, but instead you lock lips with the dark. Your body hurdles through the sky, like a shooting star trying to find its way back home to its lonely dreamer. As you pass all the stars a line to form what you believed to be endless possibilities. So, dizzy dreamer, dream on those southern constellations. Dream about your unknown fate. Faith is the only thing you lack, for it’s hard to believe in what you can’t see and it’s even harder to see what you don’t believe. Starlight, so bright; Dream another wish tonight. Dream about all you’ve missed in life. Dream another Sempiternal story through the night ending with a cliché view of life from your secret star in the moon light. The most important things in life aren’t always the easiest to receive. Often times they aren’t even what we need. So don’t feel bad if you can’t fall asleep without the tears falling from your face, because the same thing always happens to me. Star Bright, Starlight, come wish another wish tonight. I wish for a future that’s just right. A future that dreamers dream about and others just won’t understand. I hear the constant tick, tick of the clock, and stars disappear as if I had erased them like chalk. The first star I see tonight maybe the last I see in life, but as long as they know I tried my best in life, they won’t hate me for dreaming. |
Dedication:Mom,
This poem was really easy for me to write. It felt as if everything had its own place and every word, every line come unexpectedly. I’m dedicating this poem you because you are my Star Light. You’re the start that keeps shining no matter how dark the night sky may be, and you’re teaching me to be the same way. The line “… like a shooting star trying to find its way back home to its lonely dreamer.” is a really big part to me. I feel like it reminds me of you because you are just as much of a dreamer as I am, and you’re the shooting star that no matter what makes its way back home. I thank you for being helping me become the person and writer I am today because without you love and support my star would be bright and my wishes and dreams wouldn’t become reality. |
